An attractive, fast-growing evergreen shrub or small tree having glossy leaves with pointed tips. Its tiny, fragrant white flowers on stems attract bees and other pollinators, giving way to dark purple berries that ripen to black and are food for birds. Grows 20-30’ tall and 15-25’ wide. Plant in full sun or part shade in moist, well-draining soil. Drought tolerant once established.
